Download Exness — and why none of it has a price · Pakistan

The app, MetaTrader 5, MetaTrader 4 and the browser platform are downloads without a price tag. This page is about what that covers, and about the first point in the chain where money becomes yours to spend.

Downloading is the part of this with no price attached: the trading app, MetaTrader 5, MetaTrader 4, the browser platform and a practice account all cost nothing to obtain, and installing them creates no obligation. The word free covers the software and the prices it displays. It does not cover tuition, it does not promise that one particular build will keep working on one particular machine, and it says nothing at all about outcomes.

The no-charge list, one route per device

Which one, when price is not the difference

Price is not what separates these options, because not one of them has a price. The Exness Trade app (Android and iOS) is the simplest way to trade on a phone. On a computer, MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4 installs on Windows and macOS without a purchase of any kind, while the Exness Terminal runs in any browser with nothing to install at all. None of these carries a price, and that is itself the check worth keeping: anything that asks for a payment in exchange for the installer is not part of this chain.

Where the first expense of your own turns up

Nothing between opening this page and watching a chart move asks for money. The programs are published without a price, installing them takes only time, and a practice account runs on virtual funds. The entire preparation stage is unpriced, which is unusual enough to be worth naming rather than assuming.

The first expense that belongs to the person at the keyboard turns up later, on the trading side, once real funds are in an account and an order goes in. That is a separate subject with a page of its own: it is set out under trading costs, and none of it is triggered by a download.

Between those two points there is nothing to buy. No payment has to be made in order to see prices, to open a chart or to place a practice order.

What the word free is quietly not saying

Free describes the price of obtaining the software. It does not describe the effort of learning it, and the two get confused at exactly the point where the confusion becomes expensive: a program that took a minute to install can take months to use properly.

It carries no promise about one version on one device either. Builds change, operating systems change, and the combination that worked last year may simply stop being the one that is published. The answer to that is ordinary maintenance rather than a refund, because there was no payment to refund.

And it says nothing about outcomes. A terminal obtained at no charge shows the same prices to everyone looking at it; what happens next is decided by the decisions taken in front of it, not by the price paid to get hold of it.

Who carries the cost, if nobody at this end does

Software that is handed out is still built and maintained, so the cost of it sits somewhere. For a trading terminal it sits with the platform maker and with the broker distributing it, and the one thing that can be said with certainty is that it is not recovered at the point of download.

That is what explains the asymmetry this page starts from. The preparation stage is deliberately without friction, and the part with a price attached begins only when a real order does. Knowing where that line is drawn is more useful than treating the whole chain as either free or paid.

A quick way to check what a download is actually asking for

  1. Confirm that obtaining the program asks for nothing: no charge, no fee, no subscription.
  2. Confirm that installing it does not open an account by itself. Software and account are separate steps, and only the second one ever involves money.
  3. Open a practice account first and let it run on virtual funds, so the learning happens while nothing is at stake.
  4. Treat the moment real funds are placed as the boundary: everything before it is unpriced, everything after it belongs to the trading side.
  5. Anything that asks for a payment before that boundary is not part of this chain.

That last line is the practical value of knowing the price is zero: a request for money at the download stage is out of place, and noticing that takes no expertise.

What has no price, and what free does not include

What is obtainedWhat it costsWhat free does not promise
The trading app on a phoneNothing to download or installThat every future version will suit the handset it lands on
MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4 on a computerNothing to download or installHelp with one specific build on one specific machine
The browser platformNothing at all, since nothing is installedThat a browser session substitutes for a working plan
A practice accountNothing, and no funds are needed to open oneThat behaviour on practice carries over to a funded account
The stream of prices on the screenNothing to receiveAny outcome from acting on it

A download is not a purchase and not a commitment. What is obtained is the software and the prices it displays; what is not obtained is tuition, or a result.

Frequently asked questions

Does downloading the app or MetaTrader cost anything?
No. The trading app, MetaTrader 5, MetaTrader 4 and the browser platform are obtained at no charge, and installing them does not create a payment or a commitment of any kind.
What does free actually cover here?
The software itself, the installation, the stream of prices it displays, and a practice account that runs on virtual funds. It covers the tools, not the skill of using them.
What does free not promise?
Tuition, support for one particular build on one particular machine, or any outcome. A program obtained at no charge shows the same prices to everyone; what is done with them is a separate matter entirely.
Where does the first expense of my own appear?
On the trading side, once real funds are in an account and an order goes in. Nothing in the download or the installation stage produces a charge, and the trading costs page sets that side out separately.
Is a practice account free as well?
Yes. It runs on virtual funds, needs no deposit to open, and shows live prices. What it does not carry over on its own is the behaviour of the person using it.
If nobody pays for the terminal, why is it maintained?
Because the cost of building and maintaining it sits with the platform maker and with the broker distributing it, and it is not recovered at the point of download. That is why the preparation stage has no price while the trading side does.
